The method
A profit number is only worth having if you can see where every cent came from. Here is the whole method, in the open.
Etsy gives every seller three files: the Orders file (what sold, what the buyer paid, the card processing fee Etsy printed for that order), the Order Items file (each item, with its Listing ID), and the monthly statement (the fee ledger — where transaction, listing, regulatory, and Offsite Ads charges actually live). What none of them holds is what your materials cost. The tracker joins the three files to your materials and recipes. That join — not a scraper, not a guess — is the product.
When Etsy printed a fee for a specific order — the processing fee in your Orders file, an Offsite Ads charge or a fee line naming its order in your statement — the tracker uses Etsy's own number, exactly.
The transaction fee and the regulatory fee are computed by Etsy per order but not handed to you per order. The tracker computes them from Etsy's published rates for your country and the order's own date — the same formula Etsy uses.
Listing fees arrive as a monthly total with no order attached. The tracker spreads that total across the items you sold that month, and labels it as spread. Pennies of rounding stay visible, never hidden.
On 22 June 2026, Etsy changed its regulatory operating fees — the UK went from 0.32% to 0.48%, France from 0.47% to 1.14% — and nearly every calculator on the internet quietly went stale. Our table is versioned by date: an order from March computes at March's rates, an order from August at August's. Fee rates checked November 2026 against Etsy's published fee schedule.
| Fee | Rate | Charged on |
|---|---|---|
| Listing fee | $0.20 per listing | On publish, every 4 months, and per additional quantity sold |
| Transaction fee | 6.5% | Item price + shipping charged + gift wrap |
| Payment processing | US 3% + $0.25 · UK 4% + £0.20 · Eurozone 4% + €0.30 · Canada 3% + C$0.25 · Australia 3% + A$0.25 | The full order total, including sales tax |
| Regulatory operating fee | 0% US/Germany/Australia · UK 0.48% · France 1.14% · Italy 0.80% · Spain 0.88% · Canada 0.50% (since 22 June 2026) | Item price + shipping charged |
| Offsite Ads fee | 15% under $10k/yr · 12% at $10k+, capped at $100 per order | Only orders that arrived through an ad, on the order total including shipping |
| Currency conversion | 2.5% | When your listing currency differs from your payout currency |
| VAT on fees | Your country's VAT rate | On Etsy's transaction, listing, regulatory, and ads fees, if you are not VAT-registered |
